The lace of the mask and the lace of the top compliment each other, although it would look better if they were both the same colour ( the colour of the mask). This is because you start to loose the top with the white of the backdrop. The black of the shorts compliment the black of the collar of the top and the black of the top hat. The top being tucked into her shorts draw attention to her small her waist is. The only problem with this image is there isn't a main focus, it all is the main focus and that doesn't work in an picture.
The coat and hat contrast each other well. The scarf is just a splash of colour. The pose is what I wanted to achieve, it is different and quirky as it isn't the normal straight up and down. There is one aspect which doesn't work about this image, and that is the bottom of the image, where I didn't have the train to the background, and you can see the carpet. The scarf and hat work and compliment each other. If I was to redo this image I would chage the jeans for something else, or take the coat of. There is too much going on in that middle section and it looks too busy / it makes the model look bigger than what she is.
This was done because the I didn't leave enough time for the lights to recharge and the exposure on the camera went wrong. This has had no editing and was an accident, yet it is very effective. The colours are different, and not the usual ones for a model's face, and it works.
This image is the same as above. It has had no editing done, the reason why it has come out like this is because I didn't give the lights enough time to recharge and the exposure went wrong. Personally I feel it really works and look effective, even though it was an accident.
The lighting works so well and brings the face out. The arms are in a different and unusual, however the work as leading lines and make use of the space, so there are massive white spaces. The shadows on the chest area make it look unique and different.
The pose of the model works and the lighting brings the attention to the model's face, however having a hat and sunglasses do not work. As well the sunglasses reflect the light and due to this have white circles by the nose. By having this and the lighting how it is, the nose fades away and you can't see it.
The pose works and there are many leading lines. I have only used two colours to keep it plain and simple, however this has been very effective. The plain white background brings out the black in the coat and top hat. However if I was to redo this, I wouldn't have the dress at the bottom of the coat, it doesn't add anything and takes the attention away. The harsh lighting create really nice shadows on one half of her face and the other half stands out because of the lighting.
I have used too many props in this image, I should have done what Bora Tarhan did and kept it to one. The hat frames the face but the sunglasses are too much and don't work. Also you can see the one of the umbrellas of the lights, reflecting in the glasses. This draws the attention away from the model and emphasises it. The coat and the v neck work and draw the attention upwards, however the face and the facial expressions don't.
The pose of the model works so well, the hands give a glimpse of colour to the all black coat, however the collar of the coat being up frames the face and draws the on lookers attention to her face. The necklace and the v shape of the coat compliment each other and draw the audience's eye onto the models face. The slight smile is just enough and works, although if I was to redo this image, I would keep the slight smile, however I would show a little bit of her teeth, because the white of the teeth, would compliment the white of the eyes and make them bolder.
The composition of this image is great. The models pose really works and the facial expressions compliment this. The sweetheart neckline is a subtle but delicate element. I tried to use the rule of thirds, however it didn't work too great, so I ended up cropping the image to enhance the look. The slight leg in the right hand corner works as a leading line and it makes the image easier to look at, whereas if it was all just dress down there, it would be block colour and very square. The gold of the dress really stands out, and adds a brightness to the image.

This close up looks amazing because I have got the lighting correct, the exposure time correct and the composition correct. The eyes are the main focus of this image, and that because the perfect white is complimented by the pure white if the backdrop. If I was to redo this, I wouldn't crop of the side of the top hat, that is the only thing I would change. Even without being edited the light looks amazing and her skin already looks flawless - it doesn't need airbrushing.
This is the edited version of the image above. This was done by adding harsh lighting to one side of the model - this brings out the eyes. I have also airbrushed the skin to make it look flawless and give it a professional look. I added shadows and made dark the areas under her eyes ( where her eyes liner is) and on her hair. This was done to bring them out more and make them stand out - by doing this the main goes onto the models face. It looks so perfect and flawless .
The eyes are the only colour they are a subtle brown. I did this by making the image, 2 above, black and white, upping the contrast, so there was a more defiant difference in colour. Then I changed her eye colour to brown so it was too noticeable, but it was something a little bit quirky. I tried this to be own unique style. All the black elements of this image ( so the hair, hate and coat) frame the face and define the jaw line. The necklace is a subtle but elegant touch.
The feather leading line, but also combines two leading lines together (the model's arms.) The way I have edited this was on an apple mac with the newest Photoshop. It had already harsh lighting, however I made this look more prominent, and personally I really love this image.
I took Rankin as an inspiration with the use of prop. A feather isn't a usual prop and there aren't many things you can do with it. So it was quite difficult to pose the model in the correct way and to make it look professional. The eyes look amazing and stand out so much. This is emphasised by the dark eye liner around them - this brings out the white in them. Also it helps how the model is looking directly into the camera, as an on looker you get drawn into the models eyes and feel a connection between her. It is like somebody giving you eye contact in person.
I don't like the composition of this. None of the elements complement each other, and nothing stands out. It is a very plain and nothing is the main focus. All together it doesn't work as an image, and is very boring.
This image was done by accident, however it looks casual and non - posed. I was meant to capture the model dropping the hat onto her head, however my shutter speed was too slow and I didn't click the shutter in time - I was too later, so I managed to capture the hat when it was on her head. If I was to recreate this image I would change the hair - it's a bit too flickey. Also with this image I would give it bolder make up - something to be a main focus and to give it a quirky side. It's too plain and nothing is going on in it. It needs something big to happen, even just a smile or facial expression. There isn't a story towards this or any mood / emotion coming off of it.
I took inspiration from Rankin, on how to pose this image in a quirky way. I didn't think it would have worked, however it has. By having the arms like they are (in a circle) frames the face and the body - but in an unusual way. I taken inspiration from Bora Tarhan with using the same colour more than one in an image, so that it stands out and is bolder. I have slightly changed what she has done and make it unique and my own style by only using one colour and her skin colour. This was because I wanted to keep the image as simple and plain as possible.
The way I have composed this with the model looking over the shoulder, really put focus on the face. This is also emphasised by the lighting - how the face is in direct light and her back is in shadow. By having the face in direct light, this brings out the colour in the model's eyes and makes the white pure white, which stands out against her skin colour. The hair and the hat frames the face and draws the audience's attention to her face. The plain facial expression says a lot, even though its so simple. By having the strap of the dress, enhances the colour black throughout the photo - this also makes the white stand out stronger and be brighter.
